Grounding High-voltage and Low-voltage devices

Neutral earthing resistors are used to limit the current that flows through a transformer or generator in the event of an earth fault. The resistors are connected between the neutral star point and earth.

Neutral earthing resistors are used to limit the current that flows through a transformer or generator in the event of an earth fault. The resistors are connected between the neutral star point and earth. The NERs limit the fault current until the time when line protection is activated. NERs are simple and safe solution which limits damage in supply network. Neutral earthing resistors are designed to accommodate load for a short time. During the passage of a fault current, most of the energy is accumulated in the resistor elements of the resistor and this energy is gradually released to the atmosphere only after this fault current subsides.

Resistance value = Line to neutral voltage/rated current
Tolerance of ohmic values ±5 % or ±10 %
Temperature rise 760 °C in accordance with EEE 32:1972 standard

Resistor elements with defined resistance and temperature characteristics
Replaceable banks enabling easy maintenance and repair
The design is in accordance with IEEE 32:1972 standard
