The SUA 63 NUMERIC universal centre lathe is a numerically controlled machine designed for roughing and finishing of shaft and flange components, as well as for thread cutting, boring, turning of cones and various shaped rotating surfaces. The machine has a horizontal bed of rigid construction, the guide surfaces of the bed are hardened and ground, the countersurfaces on the longitudinal slide are lined with Turcite B sliding material in order to eliminate jerky movements at low feeds. The SUA 63 NUMERIC lathe is a machine with automatic cycle control, which can be equipped with a Siemens Sinumerik ONE control system.
The longitudinal drive – Z-axis is made by a servo drive, directly on the ball screw. For machines longer than 3,500 mm of rotational length, the drive is made via a toothed rack. The transverse drive – X-axis, is realized by a servo drive directly on the ball screw. Measuring of both displacements is done by rotary sensors located on servomotors. On machines of longer turning lengths, the Z-axis – longitudinal feed is measured directly, by a linear ruler. The machine can be equipped with both manually operated knife heads and multi-position CNC controlled heads from various companies. It can also be equipped with a large number of special accessories as well as custom-designed accessories that meet the requirements of current machining technology.
